The Daughters of the Wolf wanted to do something concrete to help wolves. Those who were able sent donations to PhoenixWolf. We raised enough money to become Beta Sponsors for Waya through the North American Wolf Association. It is very gratifying for us all to know that we have done some small thing for wolves in need. By identifying with wolves on the spiritual plane, those who are not able to make monetary contributions are still doing important work for wolf conservation.
"Waya is the Tsalagi (Cherokee) word for wolf. Demure and very timid, this lovely young female moves with all the grace and polish of a dancer. She carries the mark of the eagle wing on her shoulders and her beauty is a sight to behold. Waya is as beautiful as she is wild and much welcomed at NAWA. Sweet and shy, Waya's medicine is that of elegance and nobility." (Quoted from the NAWA web site description.)
