Weigh in time for the first 4 weeks. I lost 3.23 lbs of body fat. A full 8mm off my thighs. I did not gain any lean body mass, and in fact lost .27 lb. I weigh 135.5 lbs. The trainer who measured me said fat loss really kicks in around weeks 6-8, and that I was doing very well. He said he was having trouble getting a grip on my skin to measure, because I was getting toned up. All in all, I am very encouraged!
Missed two days of workouts because I was sick -- headache for 5 days now, and dizziness. Could be allergies/sinusitis. Went Wednesday for lower body workout, even though I did not feel up to it. But I felt very good when I left because I made it through. I think it actually helped to work out, to sweat a little and get the endorphins flowing. Did aerobics challenge Thursday at home. Friday's upper body work-out was hard. I do more things laying down, and the shift from vertical to horizontal triggered dizziness every time. I did everything but the last set that requires me to lay down on a bench. I felt like crying when I left the gym, more from frustration than anything else. I hate it when anything slows me down!
The "after" pictures were taken for the end of the 4 week section of the 12 week challenge. I do not see much difference visually. I do feel it in my body. I feel tighter and harder. I can feel a difference when I touch myself, and my clothes are starting to feel looser around my middle.
Week 5 has been hard for me, but I've made it through. Stuck to my nutrition plan, even though I longed for ice cream when I wasn't feeling well. Made me realize that I have used food in the past to alter my moods. It would not be a bad thing if it was carrot sticks I craved! I satisfied that ice cream craving with meal replacement shakes, which I "gussy" up with frozen fruit. Made in the blender, they come out tasting like milkshakes.
So, like life, not every week is going to be one I am excited about. But it is a win, because I kept my commitment to myself. Here's hoping week 6 finds me past this dizziness and back to normal.
